About Machine Learning Foundations: A Case Study Approach Course
Do you have data and want to know what it says? Do you want to know more about the main ways that machine learning can help your business? Do you want to be able to talk to experts about anything from regression and classification to deep learning and recommender systems?
Through a series of real-world case studies, you will learn about machine learning in this course. At the end of the first course, you will have learned how to predict house prices based on house-level features, analyse user sentiment from reviews, find documents of interest, recommend products, and search for images. You will be able to use machine learning methods in a wide range of domains after putting these use cases into practise.
This first course doesn’t explain how the machine learning method works. Using this abstraction, you will focus on understanding tasks of interest, matching these tasks to machine learning tools, and judging the quality of the output. In later classes, you will look at models and algorithms to learn more about how this “black box” works. Together, these parts make up the machine learning pipeline, which you’ll use to make smart apps.
